Last week BWI Thurgood Marshall Super Shuttle drivers – who shuttle people back and forth from the airport – staged a protest demanding better working conditions. The company that Super Shuttle is part, Veolia, has been the target of protests worldwide, from Palestine to Boston. We discuss the reasons why with a panel of guests, including: Cory McCray, an organizer with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and a candidate for Baltimore’s 45th District seat in the House of Delegates; Amy Millar, UFCW Local 1994 MCGEO Growth and Strategic Planning Coordinator; Claire Evans, Super Shuttle driver who is the leader of the Dulles/ National group; Patrick Benhene, Super Shuttle driver who is the leader of the BWI group; Tony KoKou Yovo, Super Shuttle driver who was fired for participating in a rally; and Annie Kaufman, local activist with Jewish Voice for Peace.
