We turn our focus to the National Rites of Passage Institute (NROPI) Youth Conference, which is coming this summer (July 19-21) to the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture. Joining us are:
- Navasha Daya, singer, songwriter, certified healer, spiritual and cultural arts activist, Rites of Passage Practitioner and co-founder of the Youth Resiliency Institute;
- Paul Hill Jr., author, social worker, researcher, practitioner of rites of passage, and Founder of the National Rites of Passage Institute;
- and Rashard Williams, co-founder and Lead Youth Cultural Organizer of the Youth Resiliency Institute.
We discuss how rites of passage can have a positive impact on reducing violence and incarceration, and increasing academic performance among children and youth.
