We talk to Congolese artist and Wide Angle Youth Media filmmaker and student Evodie Ngoy. She made the short film “The Paradise That Wasn’t,” which documents her experience attending Baltimore public school as a refugee.
On Saturday, April 26 at 1 pm, there will be a short film screening of “The Paradise that Wasn’t” followed by a panel discussion including Evodie Ngoy, Kursten Pickup, Refugee Youth Project Coordinator, and Joe Augustyniak, Communications Specialist for Maryland Office for Refugee and Asylees, to discuss the social, economic, and political experience of refugee youth in Baltimore.
