Cobb is a Visiting Professor of Africana Studies at Brown University and Senior Writer and Diplomatic Correspondent for AllAfrica.com. From 1962-1967 he served as a field secretary for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) in Mississippi.
