Our show begins with an interview with former Washington Post reporter Dale Russakoff about her book The Prize: Who’s in Charge of America’s Schools. The Prize, Russakoff’s first book, is a behind-the-scenes account of Newark, New Jersey’s attempt to right its failing public schools. Russakoff spent twenty-eight years as a reporter for the Washington Post, covering issues of politics, education, and social policy.
