We were heartbroken this week to hear of the death of Juliano Mer-Khamis, a Palestinian and Jewish artist and advocate of peace in the Middle East. He was an actor and theatre artist who helped to found The Freedom Theatre in Jenin Refugee Camp in 2006. He worked tirelessly through his art and in his community to help heal the divide between Palestinians and Israelis.
We’re joined for a remembrance of his life and work by his cousin, artist and teacher Zahi Khamis. Zahi was born in a village outside of Nazareth, and now teaches and lives in Baltimore.
