June 23, 2017 – Segment 2
We hosted a conversation with Andrew Cockburn, Washington editor of Harper’s Magazine, about his essay in the new issue of Harper’s, “It’s My Party: The Democrats struggle to rise from the ashes.” He reflects upon the party’s efforts to reinvent itself, reporting from the DNC convention in Atlanta and other venues. While Democratic stalwarts seem likely to fall back on the old methodology — corporate dollars, data crunching, pointless TV ads — Cockburn argues that local activists in Nebraska, Kansas, and Georgia are the party’s real hope. Cockburn is the author a number of books including Kill Chain: The Rise of the High-Tech Assassins.
