McAllister is Director of Entrepreneur Engagement, Western Pennsylvania, for the Commonwealth Foundation and incoming adjunct professor of history at LaRoche College in Pittsburgh. He was the 2016 GOP nominee for US Congress in Pittsburgh and was named to The Root 100 (2016) as one of the most influential African-Americans under 45 years old.
