Harvard sociologist William Julius Wilson spent over twenty years trying to determine why the poverty and desperation in America’s inner cities has grown since the height of the Civil Rights Movement. He discussed his book More Than Just Race: Being Black and Poor in the Inner City, which examines the factors contributing to this grim statistic.
