Dr. Cheryl LaRoche, archaeologist and lecturer in the American Studies Department at the University of Maryland, College Park, talks about her fascinating new book Free Black Communities & the Underground Railroad: The Geography of Resistance that explores how the free black community assisted the escapes of enslaved runaways in three Midwest communities.
Dr. LaRoche will be talking about her book this Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum in Baltimore.
