Responding To Homicide In Baltimore

In 2013, homicides reported in Baltimore rose to 235, up 7.3% from 2012. In the first fifteen days of 2014 another 17 murders were reported. We begin our show with a look at the homicide rate in Baltimore. Our guests will include: Michael Johnson, Executive Director of the Paul Robeson Institute for Social Change; Dawnya Johnson, student leader with the Intersection youth project;Ulysses Cofield, Open Society Institute-Baltimore Fellow and founder of CORE, an after school program in East Baltimore; and Doug Ward, Director of the Division of Public Safety Leadership in the School of Education at Johns Hopkins University.
