Happy Veterans Day to all those who have served our nation in the armed forces. To honor this day we will begin our show with a look at a sad but very real phenomenon: the high rate of suicides among veterans. Our guests are:
- Woody Curry, Vietnam veteran and Clinical Director at The Baltimore Station, an addiction recovery program in South Baltimore;
- Thomas Brennan, a Marine veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan and Purple Heart recipient who currently serves as the military affairs reporter for The Daily News in Jacksonville, N.C. He wrote a piece for the New York Times titled, “My Suicide Attempt and My Struggles to Get Help“;
- and Kim Ruocco, Manager for Suicide Outreach and Education Programs at The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.
